Dr Singh has received extensive training in the use of Microimplants as temporary anchorage devices. These are not the implants to replace missing teeth. These are very tiny screws (placed temporarily for a few months) and are used as anchors to move a large segment of teeth together which was previously not possible with braces or aligners alone. With the use of these screws, Dr Singh has been able to eliminate jaw surgeries in a large group of severe malocclusion patients.
Dr. Singh will monitor your child for developing bite and alignment issues. Occasionally young children require early orthodontic treatment to eliminate a damaging bite, create space for teeth to grow and avoid future dental or orthodontic problems. Treatment may involve an expander, a retainer and sometimes some braces. The treatment is kept as short as possible. If Dr. Singh feels your child could benefit from early orthodontic treatment, she will review the situation with you and discuss all your child’s options.
Children ages 11-13 are often ready for full orthodontic treatment. We will devise a comprehensive orthodontic plan that will address the patients teeth, bite and jaw alignment while creating the best possible smile esthetics. Often bite correction requires both braces and appliances that work with the patients growth to create the most ideal results. If several options are available we will discuss these with you and your child so you can choose a plan that fits best for your everyone.
We have several options for patients looking for “invisible” braces or aligners. We offer invisalign which is a discrete way to align your teeth. We also offer invisalign Teen, which are aligners designed to fit teens that have not completed their dental development. We offer clear braces that are less visible on the teeth than conventional braces.
